Thanks again Trish most of that I already Knew except the details of Edwards marriage I gave up last night and went to bed. The Lilian you found was my grandmas sister, Richard and Emma were my great grandparents, I am wondering if the person who put them on the IGI has got it wrong because my grandma had brothers Herbert and Richard. George and Sarah definately lived at 12 Pickering Street in 1871 and 1901 so why not in 1891 its a mystery thanks Maureen

Biddell, Edward 1900 June Islington Greater London London Middlesex 1b 724 Long, Mary Anne 1900 June Islington Greater London London Middlesex 1b 724 Morgan, Kate 1900 June Islington Greater London London Middlesex 1b 724 Thomson, Donald 1900 June Islington Greater London London Middlesex 1b 724 BIDDELL, Lillian Edith 1907 June Islington Greater London London Middlesex 1b 339 (There are no others listed) and these births Name: Biddell, Richard William Record Type: Births Quarter: December Year: 1876 District: Islington County: Greater London London Middlesex Volume: 1b Page: 428 Name: BIDDELL, Richard Record Type: Births Quarter: September Year: 1891 District: Islington County: Greater London London Middlesex Volume: 1b Page: 352 and this death Name: BIDDELL, Richard Record Type: Deaths Age at death: 1 Quarter: September Year: 1885 District: Islington County: Greater London London Middlesex Volume: 1b Page: 207 I could not find anything for Herbert Biddell. Just because a child was born at 12 Pickering Street, don't assume the family were living there. I have quite a few where the mother went back to her parents house or an older sister's house to give birth (not many hospital births in those days). They may actually have lived somewhere close. Kath. x p.s. Edward Biddell, aged 19, born Islington, is on the 1901 census on Ancestry. Herbert, Richard and Lilian Biddell, all born Islington are on the 1901 census, but their parents are Richard and Emma.

Thanks Trish for that info, on the IGI it lists them as having other children Herbert born 1879 Edward born 12 aug 1881 at 12 Pickering Street, Lilian born 1887 and Richard born 1891. None of them are on 1901 census could they all have died young. I cant find their deaths on freebmd Maureen

I have had a look on 1891 census and can't seem to find them. On 1871 census they were living at 19 Pickering st. and had a daughter Caroline who was 11 months old. You may already have her details but here they are anyway. Name: Biddell, Caroline Sarah Record Type: Births Quarter: June Year: 1870 District: Islington County: Greater London London Middlesex Volume: 1b Name: Biddell, Caroline Sarah Record Type: Deaths Age at death: 3 Quarter: September Year: 1873 District: Islington County: Greater London London Middlesex Volume: 1b These are the details I found for other daughter Georgina Name: Biddell, Georgina Record Type: Births Quarter: March Year: 1874 District: Islington County: Greater London London Middlesex Volume: 1b Page: 400 Record Type: Marriages Biddell, Georgina 1893 September Shoreditch London Middlesex 1c 153 Harper, Robert 1893 September Shoreditch London Middlesex 1c 153 According to 1901 census Georgina lived at 30 Goodrich Road, Camberwell. She had 3 children and a husband at this address. Maybe a copy of Georgina's marriage certificate would help to place where her parents were in 1890's Trish

Hi Maureen - I have checked the 1891 census for you but the only residents at 12 Pickering Street Islington are a James Lane. John Ryan, wife Charlotte and daughter Ellen. This is really a coincidence as I have been checking my husbands side (Ryans) and had looked particular entry just a few days ago. If I can help you further please let me know. Grace

Would anyone be able to search 1891 census for 12 Pickering Street Islington. My 2nd great uncle George Biddell with wife Sarah Ann should be living there but I cant find it on Ancestry. thanks Maureen
