how will I find service record with partal details

You can also try the London Gazette. If he was awarded any honours/medals (not campaign) or mentioned in dispatches. He will be in that and you can get his Service number

You could trawl the medal lists on the National Archives website and hopefully find someone with the right name and birthdate and in a regiment that would be likely for the area he lived in.

I am trying to find record of granda dickeson service history don't know regiment or service number partial date of birth. lived in sunderland or dalton le dale help please
