Eyes wiped now! my ggggrandfather Thomas is proving just as hard to trace as his grandson Caleb! I know he married in 1834 as I have those details but can not find him on any census. he died by 1871 which is awfully inconsiderate and unco-operative of him! As for Caleb he has always been a huge mistery, until i begun the tree we assumed he was a single man all his life who lived rough! The only other Caleb I have found was born same area, but 15 years prior and he emigrated to America by 1901! The information i have gained from various sites is very thin, I know he was born and married but have found no trace of his death. I dont know exactly where to start with that and I find it strange that he and his family have all dissapeared by 1901, only for him to emerge at my greatuncles in 1919 with no mention of the family. silly thing is it seems to happen in most generations, my other greatuncle Don dissapeared in 1964 with his whole family after visiting my grandad. last words they said were 'see you soon'!!!! spooky. seems like my family like to play hide and never seek alot! best wishes and hope you all have a great crimbo, Corrina

There, there, wipe your eyes on this old birth cert. Don't give up things will fallin to place one day. Learn to focus on just one line at a time If you go all over the place thing will get confusing. Pick one line and work it to say your ggg/grand dad, then do another. And do not be slow in asking for HELP theres plenty on line who are willing. Good Luck.

Corrina, you have made me feel quite guilty as I seemed to have got ancestors and rellies turning up from every corner. What others are you looking for that any of us can help with?

Don't Cry!!! there, there... Perhaps he was in hospital or some other institution ... a guest of HM somewhere? ... and will be on a census separate from the rest of his family? or at sea? Christine

I have a relative (Caleb Ryman) who I know was born in 1865, i have the refs etc etc, I know he married (Susannah Eades) in 1886, i have those details, but by 1891 hes disapeared, no sign of him at all, his wife and 3 kids (Cicely, Grace and Henry/Harry) are all together shes still classed as married, but not head of house which to me seems as if hes still with her but 'not in that day'. by 1901 the whole lot of them have gone walkies. I have been told he turned up in 1919 (approx) but he never mentioned a wife or children and was in all sense of the word a tramp. I have know idea when he died where he died or what he was doing. where do i go from here? I know one of his daughters married but cant find a ref to this its only written on an old tree i was passed down (which had many pieces of info missing and incorrect) .......... any ideas?........... Im also a little miffed that i have been on here for nearly 2 years and the only rellie i have found is one purely by accident on another site, and whome i introduced to GR!! Everyobne else seems to be turning up rellies left right and centre, where am I going wrong?? *sob sob* many thanks Corrina
