Hi everyone, I know about the War Graves Commission where you can search for info on people who died in the war, but is there any way of finding info on someone who served in WW1 but survived? Also is there a way of finding someone through their prison records? The thing is I am looking for info on an Ernest Sheldon, born c.1900 in Nottingham. I know he served in WW1 and got into a bad crowd and was sent to prison (only for a few months I am told). On his release his was disowned by the family and moved away, possibly to London. His elderly nephew is interested in finding out more about him and as I am researching our tree I said I'd help. Any tips? Vikki x

Vikki, You could try the Long Long Trail - www.1914-1918.org - it has a brilliant message forum with very knowledgeable members. Di
