karen, Try 'asking Jeeves' instead - I put in 'rescue home' 1912 and there are a couple of possible explainations on page 1 that might help Esta

Thanks Both, The lady in question was 19 when she was in the Rescue Home. I don't know what happened to her then. Best wishes Karen

Hi all, Have just found out that in 1912, a very distant relative of mine was in a 'rescue home'. Has anybody got any idea what that is? I've tried typing it into Google but I just get dog shelters! thanks, Karen
