What would be the reason that an inquest was carried out due to death from Pulmonary Gangrene.

Sounds awful :( I believe there has to be an inquest if the deceased had not been seen by a doctor for a specified (not sure of the time) length of time before the death. Anne

Hi. Are you sure it says Pulmonary Gangrene? Pulmonary - relating to the lungs Gangrene - Death and decay of tissue, usually in a limb due to injury, disease, or failure of blood supply Can't think why there would be an inquest unless there was "foul play" Jean

yep definately says Pulmonary Gangrene. I can't think why there would be an inquest either. But it says there was on the death cert.

Now do you try to get a copy of the inquest - I must admit I would, in fact once I figure out the order form for London Archives I've got one to order as I want to know why, where & how! Jean

Inquests are also held if the place, time, reson ect were unusual. IE if they were abroad, or posably industry conected. Things like that.
