Hi Mandy, how you getting on with your FT2005?

Hi Derek, my only 'concern' is that it's only available online. There is lots of family tree software available at the moment for around £30, and some of these you can upload into a website. I don't know if you've read any of the relevant threads, but if you do a search on 'software' there might be something to help. Good luck! Mandy :)

Thank you folks for your time. It appears that TP is a big favorite, but I think I will let it ride for a day or so, because I'm sure your imput will be of interest for our other readers. Keep it coming, regards, Derek

I like Tribalpages, but we also have Brother's Keeper (downloadable for free from somewhere) for offline.

I use Tribal Pages and find it very easy to use. I would also add that there is a facility to add a password, which you can share with family etc. Regards Kim

Hi Derek,I've had a look at tribal pages,it seems ok,however you have to be on line to utilise it also you are allowing other people to view it ,I use "generations" its a stand alone prog.ypu dont have to be on line to use it,I'm sure there is other programmes you can buy that allows you to create your family tree without having to access the net, they have basically the same facilities as tribal pages, good luck .Dennis in oz

I put my tree on tribal pages. I didn't have a gedcom to download so did it manually. It is incredibly easy to use.

Bonjour Derek en France I think it depends how computer literate you are. There are probably better sites, but I took one look and they scared me off. I ended up with Tribal pages, as it is so simple to compile a family tree with photographs. Also, it didn't cost anything to use. Hope this helps! Natalie

I have had a close gander at TribalPages as regards a site for the family tree. But before leaping into the chasm, what alternatives are there (with examples please), bated breath, Derek in France
