The page where you buy credits and leave your card details IS secure and the pages that you search are not. I've used the site for a while now and bought credits with no problem. Kath. x

The secure page is the one where you log on. You then transfer to the non-secure page, which is the one where you do the searching. This is quite logical - it's just a pity they have to tell you, which puts people off quite unnecessarily. Stan

Yes Sioux, that was the message I saw and there wasn't a padlock. That put me off. Will definately have a go, had two long phone call s betwen reading the boards so will leave it for tonight. But thanks to all who replied, it's reassuring to get feedback like this. :-)

Jean, I think the message you saw said that you were about to enter an area of the site that contained both secure and non-secure pages, and did you want to continue. A secure page will have the yellow padlock present at the bottom right of your screen and also the address bar should begin https:// instead of the regular http:// :~D Sioux

I did think it was odd, only used it once before some time ago and don't remember it saying that. Can't believe it wouldn't be safe, its used so much from what I read on the boards here. Just going to cook now, will try it later, thanks. Jean

It could be right Jean, although I don't think it necessarily means that it's totally insecure ... if you know what I mean. I've been using 1837 regularly for many months now and - touch wood - haven't experienced any problems. Mandy :)

Thanks John, it wasn't showing so perhaps I did something wrong? I didn't go any further then but will try again later. Don't want any money going missing! :-)

It is secure if the yellow padlock shows in the bottom righthand corner of your screen. Jon

I was just about to pay for credits and got a message saying it was not a secure site. Is this right? Surely it must be? Please tell me its OK! Thanks Jean
