Hi Just found two lovely sites with old maps of London! http://www.georgianindex.net/London/l_home.html in fact, this looks a goodie altogether - for everything Georgian: http://www.georgianindex.net/ and http://www.motco.*com/map/ which has high-resolution maps (i.e. they take a long time to download if you aren't on broadband, but are probably worth the wait!) The Booth Poverty Map of London 1898 includes Bethnal Green & Paddington. You also get a view of the present-day street map as a comparison: http://booth.lse.ac.uk/

This site http://www.old-maps(.)co.uk/ covers the area 1874. It is a little hard on the eye, depends what your looking for. Bob

There's a thread on maps on one of these boards. Godfrey maps are copies of ordnance survey maps. Should cover period and area you want and are so detailed that they show individual houses. Cost about £2.10, available at the Family Record Centre or try googling for their website. Brenda

Does anyone know where I might be able to find an old map of the Bethnal Green/Paddington area of London covering 1870-1900? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Trudy
