HELP!!! I have just found out that I was in a Barnard's home at an early age.[Ah] Prior to adoption. Is there , anywhere on the net a site that lists Ex Barnardo boys and girls, and which home they/we were placed in ?????? Thank you

My mum was in a barnardo's home. She contacted them a year ago about accessing her file and they have been very helpful. It was actually that which led to our interest in genealogy. The website should be able to give you a contact number and they will probably put you in touch with a case worker. Good luck, Liz

Thanks peeps, I have a lady who has interviewed me regarding my adoption, it was as a result of the reply from to County Court that legalizesd ths adpotion, that barnardo's came to be mentioned. I have to say I do not remember a damn thing about Barardo's, seeingt as I was adopted when I was just turned three. Only one adoptive parent still above groud, so to speak, and she is not the sharpest knife in the box now. Well!!!, she is 93 yrs old in 10 days or so, she is starting to get memory loss, poor dear. The worst thing is that she has never talked about my adoptionto me ,and never will. Rapid change of subject if broached.
