I have found my husbands father on the 1881 census, he was 2 at the time, i know he was born in Rous lench in worcestershire, which I think is the Evesham district, myself and others have searched between 1877 and 1880 on 1837 site, his father was born there too and i cannot find him either. Is it possible that some area's are not included? Or is it possible that theydid not get registered, as I found 2 sisters births but not the other 3?Is my only other option to visit the main library in the area to see the parish records?

It is possible they weren't registered, although most people were then. It's also possible a mistake was made in the registration and the name is incorrect. Sometimes the information at the local register office is better as 1837online uses the GRO indexes, which are copies of info sent from local offices. You could try putting their names here so we could look - they might be on FreeBMD. you could also try the local register office - though of course they may not be registered where you expect to find them! This was the registration district covering Rous Lench. Evesham Created 1st July 1837. Mainly in Worcestershire, but included parts of Gloucestershire. Sub-districts : Broadway; Evesham. GRO volumes : XVIII (1837-51); 6c (1852-1930). Ab Lench, Aldington, Badsey, Bengeworth, Bretforton, Broadway, Church Honeybourne, Church Lench, Cleeve Prior, Evesham, Great and Little Hampton, Harvington, North and Middle Littleton, Norton and Lenchwick, Offenham, Rous Lench, Sedgeberrow, South Littleton, Wickhamford. Registers now divided between Evesham and North Cotswold districts. nell
