Depending on how common the surname is, you could have a good guess by looking on FreeBMD/1837online for other births in the same area with the same surname. The only way to be certain that they are "yours" would be to order any certs (with parents names as checking points). From Sep-1911, the mother's maiden name is in the index which helps, though this may be a bit too late in your case. Richard

Hi, The short answer is no. All you can do is search the GRO indexes for others of that surname. Mother's maiden name doesn't appear on the GRO index until 1911 - then it's easier. You can search the GRO online on 1837online but with no real idea of a date it can be expensive. Gwynne

I know my gran was born in 1904,from 1901 census i can tell she had a brother born in 1900.Is there any way (online) that i can find out if she had any other brothers or sisters born after 1901? Thanks for any info.
