Hi I am trying to find information on a family living in Grafton Street in Portsmouth from late 1940's until 1964. I have electoral roll information and am trying to find a person listed on the electoral roll and what happened to them. Any ideas how I can do this? Trish |

The daily paper for the Portsmouth area is The News, which has a 'Where are they now? ' section once a week, where I've also seen requests for family history information. Not sure of address but if you Google you should find it.They publish requests as and when they've room, but usually within 2 or 3 weeks. |

Hi Kellys directories were published up to 1973 I think. They give details of who was living in area at a particular time. There were no Bensons mentioned in the 1964 directory living in Grafton St, but it would only have the owner or rent payer, not the lodgers. There are three Bensons living elsewhere:- Bernard N at 66 Carmarthen Ave Ernest S at 8a Florence Rd Leonard at 17 Ernest Rd. They might have moved before just before the directory was published and moved out of town! Keith |

Thanks Keith. I thought it might be a bit of a long shot. Would you be able to see if there is anyone by the name of Bradfield in Portsmouth or would that be too much of a search. Sorry for being so vague. I don't know a lot about this part of the family. Thanks in advance for any help you can give. Trish |

Hi keith Thanks again. A L Bradfield is my great grandmother. She died in 1962 but one of her sons still lived there until he died in 1964. I will make a note of the Bradfields that you have found. Thank you so much. Trish |
