Try the John Rylands University Library in Manchester. They have a huge amount of material relating to Methodists. My husband's 4xGt grandfather was a Wesleyan minister and the info provided by the library established where and when he was born, the name of his first wife and eldest daughter and the name and birthplace of his third (surviving) wife. They were also able to supply a portrait of the man himself together with copies of numerous letters.

Does anyone have any info on Guisborough Methodists. I have recently been told my husbands gt grandad was a minister. I havent any exact dates but would imagine 1900 to about 1936. All his children were baptised methodists and he married his 2nd wife at Guisborough Weslyan Chapel in 1910. Found a site for Guisborough methodists but couldnt get on it. Tried google but didnt seem to have alot. I was hoping there may be some members out there who could help.
