You can google Industrial Schools aswell to see what they were like.

I have just traced an ancestor who was a scholar in 1881 at "Saint Michael Home Industl Trg School" (this is exactly as given on the census)in Wantage, Berkshire. Can anyone help me to find out more about this sckool or how I would be able to trace addresses. Loz
