Thanks everyone, I was a bit worried by the first reply, but I will try some of the other suggestions. I know people were not as literate then, but the ones that were wanted to know what everyone else was getting up to. I know they were especially interested in deaths and dark deeds. I found two accidental deaths recorded in the Northamptonshire paper in the 1860s. Thanks again, Yvonne

There was a Warwick Recorder...or some name like that....a weekly...copies in Warwick Records Office. But I think Foleshill is more likely Coventry papers. Joan

Hi Yvonne, You could try... http://genealogylinks(.)net/uk/england/warwickshire/ Or just Google "old newspapers Foleshill". My fathers family go back into the 1700's in Foleshill and I have found that Coventry/Foleshill would have to be one of the best covered places for genealogy..if it's there you will eventually find it. Kaye.

The back issues of the local paper are probably microfilmed and in Warwicks Records Office. I think triplets would possibly be newsworthy, but you'd only know by looking! At least you have a date to narrow down your search. nell

I don't know if the Coventry Evening Telegraph was going back then, worth giving them a call Ann

No TV, no radio, no photography, no NHS Public Relations man, half the people couldn't read. I doubt it was newsworthy.

It has recently come to light that my husband's GGGrandparents Elizabeth and Thomas Birch gave birth to three daughters in December 1841. All three were registered but one appears to have died almost immediately the other two were christened on 10th December at St Pauls church, Foleshill, Warwickshire. My question is, would triplets have been newsworthy at the time? And if so does anyone know what the local paper would have been? Regards, Yvonne
