There is a very useful posting "London Family History Map" from helen little nell ptfg which links to info re cheap accommodation during school holidays at the LSE. although its not as cheap as that mentioned in Exeter it seemed reasonable to me and its almost next door to the Family Records Centre. A cousin from Doncaster comes down to London and stays in student accommodation in the very same block as the FRC. I don't think it's as cheap as Exeter, but you could hardly get closer. Brenda

I was thinking (?) if anyone is doing family research over the summer holidays, most university towns/cities rent out the unoccupied student halls of residence at really low prices. I stayed at Exeter for £12 b and b a couple of years back. Just a thought, as my cousin doing some research at present has had to pay £55 p.n. for a hotel room whilst he is using the local records office. So if we can get a bargain on the accommodation front it helps us all out.
