www.google.*com (remove the * ) type the name and place into the search box. I put : Judkins Northampton family history to find my rellie. (I think there was a thread on here with lots of advice for using Google some weeks ago)

Do you have dates or places you could post on here? Perhaps someone will have more suggestions then. I managed to give my tree a kickstart by putting a name and place into Google - found a couple of websites set up by people researching the same name and contacted a distant cousin that way.

Hi judith, i have already started my tree, ive got alot of info on storrie and fisackerly, but im stuck for kennedy and riley, i cant find anything, i have spoke to my parents but they have not got any info apart from where they came from, ive searched the site as well as another site, now im stuck, any suggestions? regards karen

If you're just starting out start by asking your family for any details they have, however small. Also look for any certificates, passports, letters etc that the family have kept. Then there's lots of links to advice on where to look for records on the GR homepage under the heading Genealogy Resources. You could also do a name search (see the left of this screen below the advert) to see if anyone else on this site is researching your names. Good hunting Judith

Hi there, i am trying to build a family tree, any one any info on the storrie family from shotts or the fisackerly family from berwick-upon-tweed, also in my tree is the riley's from byker in newcastle and the kennedy's from harthill, shotts in lanark, any info would be appreciated, many thanks, KAREN SMITH
