It was the 1901 image. Looking again, I see there were at least 5 households sharing this address and the chances of any working connection between Kleboe and Cooper are probably slim.

Geoff was that out of the original 1901 census or did you find it in another document as I only found his sister at the address and she is down as a nullworking at home. But its given me new info to follow up

He was an employer. In the same house was a worker whose job was "Sporting(?) gun maker - action fitter" - I don't know if this would have any relevance.

Theres a good posabilaty it could be that, but not neccesarily furniture. Draughtsman in the car industry today make models of new cars from wood first. He (Charles) could of been a model maker. I never got around to looking at the original of his page just the printed page so missed the extra bit you saw. Thanks.

I think the word is boxwood. The entry also has an annotation W Carv so my guess is he was a wood carver producing designs on boxwood furniture. Judith

I have an ancestor on the 1901 census as follows Charles Kleboe/ 29/ london clarkenwell /london/ Islington/ Draughtsman On Boywood. What or were is Boywood?
