Are you sure they changed their name by Deed Poll? You dont have to and it would have cost a fair bit for most people. I think people tended just to change their name by usage. If they did change it by Deed Poll then it would have probably been put in the Sunday Times by their lawyer. It would have been put to court first. You can google Deed Poll to find out more.

Hi All, Could someone help me please...where would I start looking for Deed Poll documents. This happend in about the 1920's. Anyother tips about it would be very helpful. Thank you Mary.
