Do you mean the entries were baptism at St John the Baptist Church Chester? If these were before 1837 there will be no birth certificate but you could get a photocopy of the page in the baptism register by applying to the county records office which holds the Chester registers. If 1837 or later then the baptism date gives a clue as to when the child was born (although sometimes parents had their children baptised en masse in which case the birth year may be considerably earlier). Then you will have to check the GRO birth index or contact the Chester register office to find and order the correct certificate.

Is this a baptism record you have found in the IGI index? If so then John the Baptist will be the name of the Church were the baptism took place (sorry if this sounds obvious). If the birth is after 1837 you should be able to track down a birth certificate. Check the register of births, marriages and deaths index to see if you can find a birth in the same year as the baptism in Chester. Please beware that not all baptisms took place immediately after a baby was born, some could take place months or even years later, some families did 'batch' baptisms on several children at a time and others were adult baptisms.
