The address for finding out about divorces is: Principal Registry of the Family Division First Avenue House 42-49 High Holborn London WC2V 6NP The phone number is:- 020 7947 7017 It costs £20 for them to do a 10 year search, and I'm not sure but I think they might need the date of marriage, but if I were you I'd give them a ring first and see what they need. On saying this they couldn't find my father-in-laws divorce in the 10 year period I gave them, but that might be because I was guessing at when I thought the divorce would be. If you have a good idea of the year they should be able to find it. Hope this helps. Kath. x

My great grandparents got divorced at some point after my grandfathers birth in 1928, while he was still very young. It has never been known why they divorced, would it be posible to find this out? Leslie Thomas and Eleanor Thomas nee Boag. Unfortunatly I dont know where they were living at the time, My grandfather was born in Cambuslang in Scotland, but lived in Darlington later on.
