Morning Sean and Linda, I have just sent an email to Gen8/Sierra with ref the probs. As I said, I now have W2000, and like Sean, family trees in black and white. However looking thru new offers by Amazon couk family tree progs, I saw that they had Gen 8 for sale at under £10 and ONLY recommended for Windows 95 & 98. I included this info to the Sierra site manager. Will continue to inform on this thread. Have a good w/e, Derek

Hello, that is very interesting Linda. I know this may not be of use to Sean, but maybe others have a similiar prob with Generations 8.0 grande suite. I had windows 98SE, a local whizz kid said "too slow"" and upped it to XP prof, but in french. My son offered me 2000 prof and changed it for me, so I am now operating 2000. So much for the guff!. However the prob suffered by Linda with the disappearance of info when loading some, happened with all three of my progs. There is interacton between files apparantly and if one is clever enough(unlike me) it is possible to use a file called msconfig, view this site (http:users.sisna(.)com/mhobart)and browse until you find the solution. When you have sorted it out, tell me how, please. Regards, Derek
