Some programmes ask for the Surname to be enclosed with slashes. PAF for example, so if you don't know the surname there are just the 2 slashes. |

Some of the gedcom files I have been sent show a name where the identity is not known as. Unknown\\ Why the two slashes and are there any other codes or symbols we should be aware of? Wayne |
