Brian, I know of a Sissy (slight spelling difference). She is known (not her real name) as Sissy cos her mum didn't believe she was pregnant - thought it was an ovarian cyst !!!!!!! the mind boggles!!! Rosalyn, I have 2 second cousins called Trixie and Dinkie - no idea what their real names are!!!!! (On second thoughts - may be Gwen and Elizabeth). maggie

One of my husband's great aunts was called Cissy. We thought that was her given name until I started researching and found she was Marjorie Elizabeth. She was called Cissy as she was the only girl with 3 brothers! (Short for sister). Her daughter was also Cissy - they were known as big Cissy and little Cissy! Sue

Cissy is short for Cecilia but I'm sure other people will come up with other variations due to nicknames.
