Does anyone know if the passenger records of ships sailing from Liverpool are kept at Liverpool reference library. If they are could somebody please check a particular sailing for me. The Lusitania sailed from Liverpool on, or about, 7th August 1909 and one of the passengers was Arthur Falkland Howard HEAD. I would like to know what his passenger record says.

Brian, if you search the Ellis Island site you will be able to see the original passenger details for:- Arthur Falkland HEAD and his wife Lena. They were passengers on the Umbria departed from Liverpool and arrived 20th Sep. 1903. Arthur is described as 24yr 3months, his occupation was engineer and his final destination was Ohio. Lena was 22. You will need to register but the site is free to search and free to view the original documents. This may not have been his first visit to the US. best regards Kathy Wirral

Hello Kathleen, I have actually seen the entries on the Ellis Island site but I just wondered if passenger records for the ship leaving Liverpool might give any more information about them. AFH Head passed through Ellis Island in 1903 and 1909.

Hi I was looking up passenger list for someone else for this boat and remember reading that the only passenger list for this boat that exists was for it's final voyage in 1915. best wishes Christine
