There is a possibility that the bride and groom lived in different villages within the Tetbury Parish area, and married in both villages to keep both sides of the family happy! As both villages were within Tetbury Parish the index would say Tetbury for both marriages - If you understand me!!! maggie

Ancestry takes its information from freebmd and they are on that twice. Another couple appears with them on the earlier date. It is possible that they married after the end of the earlier quarter, the details were incorrectly submitted then and then correctly submitted in the later quarter. Brenda

It's possible the date on ancestry has been mistranscribed. Have you checked freebmd or 1837online for confirmation of the date? Lou

yesterday on ancestry.co.uk, i found the marriage of my gg grandfather twice, the first was in sept qua of 1866 to my gg grandmother and the second was in dec qua of 1866 again to my gg grandmother when i phoned the register office for this area she kindly checked for me half a dozen times and cannot find it anywhere???? have ancestry made a mistake, or am i doing something wrong????
