Hi Does anyone know were I would look for information on an orphanage? The person who I am researching was in this orphanage in 1901 in Devon, Any help at pointing me in the right direction will be gratefully recieved Neil |

Neil, My grandfather was in an Industrial Home for 9 years - it was like a Borstal/Young Offenders Institute . Google will give you a list. |

Hi Helen, I am affraid i dont know the name of this orphanage or school which doesnt help, The information I have is that it was in the village of Merton in Devon & it was for girls, this information I got from the 1901 censes, Apparently the Devon offices are in the process of moving to new premises so no help there, The only other info I got was from a library in Devon & that was it was listed in kellys directory as a certified home for 25 girls supported by lady clinton, I have been trying for weeks to find any info, how do you access kellys directories?
