I always think of how much I know now, compared with when I started, as encouragement when I come across a brick wall! nell

Thanks Jacqueline,I felt it important and right to write this as I had no idea in the beginning on how to start looking and as I say 18 months ago we knew so very little and you guys were so helpful and put me on the discovery path. Also I thought it might give others encouragement who are just starting out on their search and also to those who hit the preverbial brickwall !!!!!!!!!! Elaine

Hi everyone..hope you are all well and your searches are fruitful.I haven't been on the site for ages and have been suffering withdrawl symptoms,I should put this on success stories but as it's you wonderful people who helped I want to share with you...at last I've pieced together loads of my hubbies Rosier history (haven't had time for mine)!!.Hubbies Grandfather died very young and his father knew very little of his historybut with a lot of hard work and loads of help from you we have found loads...We have found and VISITED his dads brothers son..... contacted distant Rosier relatives, found and VISITED his Granparents and Grandfathers grave.Plus some other relatives graves been able to acquire loads of certificates, and info.Found an historian who knew loads about Mitcham (where they all lived),traced some wills visited the pub and cottages they owned and best of all have acquired the most beautiful picture of the original pub that his G.G.Uncle had in the early 1800s .This is now proudly framed and on display for all to see.It has meant so much much to my husband ,and our search will continue. It's been quite costly but well worth it.So once again Thank you all very much because 18 months we knew virtually nothing and now the skys the limit.....Mind you saying that it's not going to be so easy with my military and Irish ancestors....but that's another story........ Regards and Thanks to you all, Elaine
