Thanks Anne for that bit of info. I am seeing so many names that I forget to see the page highlighted to check the page. Thanks Andrea

Are you talking about the GRO index on FreeBMD? If you can find your grandfather in the marriages with the district, Vol number and page number you then click on the page number (eg 324) and it will bring up a new page showing you the four people who are entered on that page. It will not say which one is married to which but you will probably recognise your grandmother's first name and pick the right one. Note, though, that FreeBMD is not complete so you might not get four names. If you are sure it really is your grandfather you can send for the certificate anyway just with his name, vol and page. You don't need both names to send for a marriage certificate. Anne

Is there a site I can view which will allow me to cross ref. the above. For instance, I'v found the above Vol and page details for my G'Father's marraige. This after a hugh trawl through the pages. There is of course no details of my G'Mother there. The Vol and page ref's will be the same for my G'Mother as for my G'Father, so, to find her name, how can I bring up those Vol and pages? Any ideas? Thanks.
