Elizabeth - yes I'll have to get the marriage certificate. Georgina - it could be him, but his age is 10yrs out on the 1891 census. I'll look into it. Many Thanks!

I'm hoping some kind soul could help me find someone for me? I've been looking for ages and don't know what else to try. He is Wilfrid James Ferns. He is my great grandmothers father. The problem I have is his name is sometimes spelt Wilfred and surname Fearn or Fern. On the 1891 census, he is spelt, Wilfred Fearn, 37 born Cauldon Staffs. This makes his birth around 1854. On his daughter's marriage certificate (Margaret Byatt Ferns) in 1910 he is deceased quarryman. Wilfrid married Theresa Goodwin in 1886 in Cheadle, Staffs. His name on the Staffs BMD site where I found the marriage by the way, his name is spelt as Wilfrid Fern. Theresa remarried in 1895 so he must have died between 1891 and 1895. Why can't I find him on the 1881 or 1871 census? Is anyone up for the challenge of locating this missing man for me? Cheers
