im looking for a Mary Ellen Burns, I have found a birth on freebmd that fits. She was born in 1885 in belper. I cant find her on any of the census records. I know she married a John Arthur Cooper. I cant find their marriage anywhere. They had two children, Vera cooper b 1914 in worksop and a son called John Arthur Cooper who I cant find. I dont know which child was the elder. Mary Ellen Cooper died in leicester in 1975. Any help would be great. I think I am just going to bit the bullet and get the birth cert that I have found for a M E Burns and hope for the best. I would like to find the marriage tho. I have confirmed ME burns born in belper on the 1837 site abd the Vera Cooper birth but cant find the others |

As far as I know the Ancestry civil reg info is the same as FreeBMD, and neither is complete. You can look online at registration indexes on www*1837*online - replace * with . This charges however, and as you have 4 quarters to check for each year, it can be expensive if you don't have a good idea when an event took place, or if you have a very common name, as these can take up several pages. nell |
