Hi, this morning I was googling looking for Irish sites and I came up with some sort of genealogy site that you could search but it was limited to certain counties. Just have a google and see if you can find it and whether its any help to you. No good to me, my county not covered. Though they do offer look ups for people - dont know how much they charge though.

No there isn't. From the Getting Started section on the homepage of this site - you have to scroll down to find it - Irish Protestant marriages started to be recorded on 1 April 1845 and all births, marriages and deaths from 1 January 1864. Records are with the Registrar General at Joyce House, 8-11 Lombard Street, Dublin 2, + 353 1635 40000, www.groireland.ie. Civil records for Northern Ireland from 1922 are kept by the Registrar General of Northern Ireland at Oxford House, 49-55 Chichester Street, Belfast BT1 4HL (0232 235221), www.nisra.gov.uk/gro. nell

I've found that a couple of my ancestors were born in Ireland and I was wondering if there is an Irish equivalent of BMD (or similar)? Thanks in advance! Ellie
