Well thanks for your efforts everybody who tried to find my great grandfathers birthdate, but it looks as though we will have to admit defeat on this one,he just doesnt show up by the look of it,very frustrating, thank you all,William.

Thanks Jude jaybee,Thomas is another of Johns brothers along with Joseph,James,Henry,Jane and Fanny. The brood you mention are his brother Williams and Harriets clan all residing at 5 Goodson Rd Willesden(along with Francis Holford, servant?). Still no-one can point me in the direction of my great-grandfathers birth,i just know its 1879-1881,probably Hayes-Yeading(although it states Paddington on 1901).Frustrating this ancestry lark.

Jude Jaybee, thanks,on Johns wedding cert, his job is carman, same as on 1901,his father Georges job is labourer,i have seen him previously described as a "brickfield labourer"?

(Walter) William Drinkwater, and his wife Harriet and their countless children were indeed living at 5 Goodson rd on 1901 census.William was Johns older brother.Harriet was a witness at Johns wedding, along with Mabels father John Baldwin

Thanks Crista, yes that is them, although the age for John doesnt quite tie in with 1901 or his wedding cert, different place of birth as well,i have come across that info but doesnt show any birth date on 1837 that ties in with John??

Joy, I hope so but I don't think it will be that easy! William, The head of the family at 5 Goodson Rd is William Drinkwater which seems odd. Who were the witnesses to the marriage? Do you have occupations? Crista

Well I've looked on freebmd but can't find any John Walter Drinkwater births from around that timescale. I found a John Drinkwater but he was born in Witney in 1880 so that doesn't fit. Sorry I couldn't help any. Good luck.

Thought that would get your attention! I have a problem finding my great-grandfathers birth. His name on his wedding cert is John (Walter) Drinkwater 19 (married march 4th 1900)living 5 Goodson rd Willesden. On 1901 census John Drinkwater 20,65 Denbigh rd Willesden.I know from wedding cert his fathers name was George Drinkwater.I have looked on 1837 online but just cant find his birth.1901 gives his birthplace as Paddington, but im sure the family come from Hayes.Did find one John on 1837,from 1881 islington, thats not him! Can anyone solve my problem, perhaps he wasnt registerd,is that possible?? I promise a large box of chocs in the post to whoever can nail down his birth?
