Linda Thanks very much for that. It's definately George's brother as I have James on the 1871. Maybe the whole Herring family moved up from Wiltshire. I'll go look for George's mum and dad too.

How come I didn't find them? I'd been looking at 1881 for over an hour, even tried Merrings and Werrings etc. Must be the cold weather affecting my brain. Thanks for your help folks

OK stop looking,they tried to hide. Geo Herring Age; 28. F Herring Age: 26. S M Herring Age: 5. Geo A Herring Age: 1m. Granville St Ct 19 No 10. Sheffield. If you search for George Herring/Birth-Christening 1881 +- 2yrs you will find it. John.

From 1891 Census, living in Sheffield George Herring 37 born Potterne, Wilts Fanny Herring 36 born Sheffield Sarah E Herring 15 Sheffield George A 10 Sheffield Charles Henry 1 Sheffield Most likely to be in Sheffield area I think. I've found George snr in 1871 still in Wiltshire with his family but would like to fill the missing years. George and Fanny married 1875 and Sarah was born 1876 in Sheffield.
