Thanks for the address, Alan. I will write to them to see what help they can be. Dah - I didnt even realize that I could find a copy of divorce records. I guess I will ask them that question and also check the Dorset records office. Thanks again. Wendy

Hi, Below is the address of the Town Hall in Rouen that I suggest be your first point of contact, write to them, even if I think your information is extremely vague! La Mairie Place Général de Gaulle 76000 ROUEN If there was a marriage and the records survived WWII they’ll be able to help Not that I've researched any divorces, but wouldn't it be easier to look at the divorce? Sorry Alan this is one I am very vague on. What I am looking for is a marriage of Roy Avey (or could be Roy Dix) to a person with the first name of Clothilde. There would have been a divorce around 1960-62. Dont know if any of this info helps. Roy would have been my father-in-law and the little info I have comes from my brother-in-law. Again, I really do appreciate any help you can give. Wendy

Alan, I believe, and this is guesswork, that the marriage probably took place in Rouen. Any help you can give would be greatly appreciated. Wendy

What was the location of marriage in France, as many records are still held in La Mairie, who are always happy to help. If you know give it to me and I'll get the address. Alan

Does anyone know of a site where I can locate a marriage which took place 1914-1920 in France between a British serviceman and French spouse. Do not have surname of spouse. Wendy
