Hi Pat, What sort of home network? We're running 5 pc's and occasionally 2 laptops all from one wireless network here at home. All have AVG 7.0 on with no adverse affects. Sioux

Gaynor, Are you running Windows XP? If so I highly recommend installing Sevice pack 2. This helps prevent annoying popups and also has a far tighter security system. I'm sure I will offend many people when I say NORTON is PANTS !!! Waste of time and money :( You can't beat AVG Free Anti Virus. Go to http://free.grisoft(.)com/freeweb.php/doc/2/lng/us/tpl/v5 Remove the brackets ..... and download the new free 7.0 version. You can set it to self install all new updates so it should never be out of date. Remeber when scanning for viruses,if using Win XP, many times they will hide away in your system, in the restore area, like it's a safe zone. You need to turn off your restore function, run the virus checker and let it heal / remove any problems then recreate and enable the restore point. If you have AVG running then it scans all incomming mail and will tell you if there is a virus / worm present. Post again if you need further help. Sioux

Thank you I shall try some of these, I have since done a Norton virus scan after the adaware and it didn't show any infected files or anythng so I'm not sure how things stand. The council sent a duplicated email but I daren't even try to open that one - it's so frustrating :-(

Not heard of that one Gaynor. Why dont you try an online scanner like http://www.pandasoftware(.)com/activescan/com/activescan_principal.htm These can be run as well as your AV ( although best to turn off while scanning) and can clean up as well. Bob
