In the GRO indexes the mother's maiden name is printed after the entry from 1911 onwards. It is a great help in grouping sets of children! Anne |

Does anyone know what year mothers surnames were added to Birth Registers on 1837. Also was it Married, Maiden or both names used. I am trying to find out how many children my Ggrandmother had, and going thorugh the 1837 web site is the only way I can think of doing it. Thanks for your time and help Lorraine |
