Thanks for that Shelli, I asked because I try to spread the cost over each month. Don't want to order if its going to be in the same month as the last one ordered! Not a cheap hobby (obsession) is it? Jean |

Had better order the ones I meant to leave for a few weeks to spread the cost. Has anyone noticed if the credit card is deducted on ordering date or when it is actually sent? Am still waiting for one supposedly despatched on the 12th. Patience is a virtue!!!! Jean |

Yes, I ordered two last night and was given the despatch date of the 24th Nov. Mind you, this "hobby" was never an overnight thing. |

I rarely use GRo as the local records office is much quicker. If I order a cert from Durham in the morning I usually get it the next day. Middlesbrough is also very quick. Darlington doesn't take cards at the moment so is a bit slower as you have to send a cheque but still much faster than GRO. Best Wishes Andrea |

the latest one to arrive was 03/11 ordered on line 09/11 despatch date 11/11 cert dated 12/11 post mark So anyone waiting for certs now, can forget the normal 4 days.... Sorry for passing on the bad news, but at least you know what the issue is now |

In case you did not know already.... I ordered some certs from GRO a few weeks ago and they were posted 4 days after application. I ordered some more yesterday and they have a notice on the front page saying due to increase demand etc, certs taking 6 days, but when I actually placed the order online it stated 9 days!! I imagine that if you mention the BBC anywhere near the GRO, it must be like a red flag to a bull!! |
