Member Since: November 2004 Posts: 10 Send Message	My G'father wasn't married to my G'mother but the relationship produced a child. G'father paid a small amount to G'mother via a solicitor. This effectively hid his name. Is there a way to have this information released? This is going back about 70 years. Any clue will do.

Member Since: May 2003 Posts: 193 Send Message	Do you have the Solicitors name, and does the firm still exist, (possibly merged or taken over) if so it may pay to write and ask for the family papers to be given to you as a living representative of the family. If you had a name you could check to see if there was a will which may have left a bequest to your ancestor. Pam

Member Since: November 2004 Posts: 10 Send Message	Thanks Pam. Yes the firm still exists but a request (phone) by another family member didn't get much joy. The hidden/suspected name is what we need to confirm.
