Does anyone know if it would be possible to have this photograph negative developed, it was in an old 'Boots' envelope, dated may 10th 1940, it is of Gt Grandfather!.. just wondered whether to take it in and give it a go!..

You can probably get it done at a specialist rather than Boots. I dont know if they do them. Certainly my sister got some photos beautifully restored at a print shop that advertised old photo work.

You might be able to find a Camera club, locally, the scanner suggestion is good, also, then you can get an idea of what to expect.............. scan the negative in, and with a photo program, "invert" the image to get a positive...........

It's possible to buy scanners now that can produce good quality pictures from negatives and slides. I'm contemplating buying the Canon 3200F which does exactly that. Does anyone have one already and know how good it is?

Christine. I have an 8000F and it is very good. The nagative holder will only take 35mm but I have had good results just by scanning and then converting to positive. Once warmed up it is quite fast. Brian
