Hi Maureen. These were the only BIDDELL listed on my Index's. I checked every Victorian Index 1840 to 1985 Deaths, but to no Avail on that particular spelling. I did try Surname Variations, but stilll nothing. I checked the N.S.W index as well, in case he was on his way to N.S.W after a short stop in VIC. ( Still nothing up to 1945 in N.S.W.) I then tried the Australian Vital records Index's. 1788 - 1905 and only found these below. I will give you an Australian popular URL just in case, as you can do some on line checking. http://www(.)nla(.)gov(.)au/pathways/jnls/newsite/browse/geoghist(.)html dont forget to remove the ( ) brackets. Sorry, i couldn't be more helpful, there may be hundreds of reasons why i couldn't find him. Spelling Variation, or he may have changed his name, or used a possible second name as apposed to Robert. Good luck .Tony. The Surname was not popular in Vic, but more so in N.S.W. Hi Tony I have a Robert Biddell in my line listed on 1871 census age 19, I cant find any trace of him, parents Richard and Caroline or siblings in England on later census. I have found Robert Biddell age 22 listed as unassisted migrant on ship Rhoderick Dhu to Victoria in 1874. If you can help me find out if they are the same person I would be most grateful. He probably was a jeweller as most of the family were. thanks Maureen

Can anyone tell me how to find out about people who emigrated from England between 1871 and 1881. I think I have found a great 2 uncle on a passenger list to Victoria, Australia in 1874. His parents and most of his siblings except my great grandfather are not on any census since 1871, any help gratefully received Maureen
