Hi Leeanne. I just saw your request about Shipping 1901-1934 There is not much info on Shipping to Oz after 1900, that i know of. ( Unless, someone has more info than myself ?? )The Australian Archives is the best contact i can offer. http://www(.)naa(.)gov(.)au/ Cheers. Tony.

Victoria, Please do not get me wrong but you could edit the name of your post or just add a few words at the end of it to attract our friends from Australia. Because you are the author of this thread when you press to read it you press again where it says edit and just add or edit what you want. Any problems let me know. Good Luck Pat x

My g grandfather was born 1860 Islington London. He is on the 1871 census being 11 years old. I haven't been able to find him on the 1881 census. He reappears married in 1888 in Pt Adelaide Sth Aust. His 4 children are born here in 1889 ,1893, 1895 He dies 1900 at Yorke Peninsular Sth Aust. His death cert says he was a steward on a steamship and he died by drowning. Is it likely that his childrens birth cert would list his occupation? Can anyone suggest or advise what he may have been doing between the 1871 census and his marriage in 1888? I have searched as many passenger and crew lists as I can but have made no headway. Where can I go from here. ? Any help most appreciated. Thanks Victoria
