Been nosing through some old family photographs and come across some 1910. They were from a Henry Harrison to his wife. The photos which are more like postcards were sent via Mrs Lomax, Sidebottoms Court off Robinson Street Stalybridge Cheshire. On the front of the postcard is a photograph of the 9th Manchester Regiment at Salisbury Plain 1910. The pictures are fascinating but I don't know where they could come into my family tree. is there anyone out there who knows where I can get more info from THANKS |

I tried googling: http://www.tameside.gov.uk/leisure/new/lh35.htm http://www.genuki.org.uk/big/eng/LAN/Manchester/regiment.html http://www.victoriacross.org.uk/ccmanche.htm http://www.1914-1918.net/mancs.htm I also found thislink a while back: http://www.armymuseums.org.uk/ It has a search function which leads to info about where, when open, contact stuff and so on. Beverley I live in Stalybridge and I think that Robinson Street is still standing. Not sure about Sidebottoms Court though! Ali |
