I would search for a birth entry for Mary Warner in both villages see what turns up. At the same time I would also look up on the 1871/81 & 91 census's for her placing her in the earlier census with her parents. You can search the 1881 census free www.familysearch.org Much happiness Debi

Single mothers were treated completely different to now and she was probably classed as feeble minded just because she was unmarried. Sheila

Hi Can anyone help, my Grandad was in a workhouse with his brother and mother in 1901, her age being 30, her birthplace being Oulton, Suffolk, condition of marriage is U, which obviously stands for unmarried, Infirmity says she was feeble minded, I take it this is not with it. Grandads birth certificate mothers name - Mary Warner a Domestic Servant of Kirkely, Suffolk, no father named. The only thing I can think of is the information on the 1901 census, age, birthplace maybe incorrect due to her being feeble minded. Any ideas where to go next?
