I don't think it was a crime for a man to leave his wife. Perhaps there were reasons why he couldn't divorce her and so opted for an 'easier' way? |

Was "Abandonment" actually a crime as such & would a husband be pursued in any way by the authorities?, I have a grandfather who has completely evaporated circa 1940/41, he was reputed to be an avid gambler/racegoer, at present no trace of death or mention at all? anyone have any ideas how to go ahead with this one?
