Hi Maria In our local news paper they have a section about our area in the past. Perhaps you could post an add in your local paper. Even if there are no living rellies in the area there might be somebody who remembers your Grandad Jeanette x

Hi Maria If you are looking for living relatives of this person, you could try posting his name on the trying to find board on this site and add that you are looking for any descendants or other family. You never know, someone may see it who has some information. Sam

Thanks sam,and mandy. I will give the web site a go,and thankyou for the offer of photos,but i actually live in Trowbridge. I am trying to find out if ernest has any living family. Got a few addresses to write to,so il give that ago also. Thanks again

Hi Maria, how would you like a photograph of Frome Road, Trowbridge? There's an old building there that I think houses some sort of cadets, so that could be part of it, but I'm not sure. If you'd be happy for just a few photos of the road in general, I'd be more than pleased to do it for you. My parents and I drive along that road as it leads from them to me!! I wondered if anyone can tell me the best sites to use. I am searching for my grandad ERNEST CECIL WINTER. He was in the army in the 1940s,and stationed at Frome rd barracks in Trowbridge Wiltshire. He also worked on the railway in 1948ish at which time he lodge at 10 grey tree rd, ross on wye,herefordshire,and The Crofts. With so little info,i dont know where to look,and just keep flicking from site to site. Please help THANK YOU
