Always a bit confused here if I want to put a married lady into this and I only know her birth year what do I put in for the event also for the year what do I put in there as I don't know here marriage date this is to find her on the 1881? does that make sense?

Hi there, if you only know her married name - then you could enter that if she was married by the 1891 census. I guess you know her husband's name and the area they would be living in? You could enter her husband's name and look up marriages and check out the list of brides shown. If she has an unusual christian name you may make an educated guess that it is her. You can confirm that by checking the census with either his name or her name.
