Hi Heather, Karen & Jeanette It's actually the GR program that is at fault. It will not recognise baptism dates, for people born before 1837. If you have a full baptism date and then enter abt 1830 in the birth year, it completely ignores BOTH dates. It's something that has been raised many times in the past, but as yet, GR have not done anything to rectify the problem. Debbie |

You hit the nail on the head Heather. Non compatible programs. I don't understand Gedcoms (lol) so I entered mine by hand. I also find it really annoying when there's no date or place. Jeanette x |

I wondered how that happened because this site won't let you add anyone without filling in all the required fields. Now I know. And, yes, it is annoying! |

That when you do a name search lots of the newly listed names dont show a date or place of birth?? Why is this, is it because people have imported their trees from a non compatible program? Its a bit frustrating because you see a name which might be a connection but are reluctant to contact people when there is no place or date to go on. |
