My ancestors landed in Quebec but somehow ended up living in Ontario. Think one of my missing ones may have been born over there which is why I can't find his birth in the UK Civil Reg Ali

Emma; Try the British Columbia archives for your mum's certificate. I think this is the correct website. http://www(.)bcarchives(.)gov(.)bc(.)ca/textual/governmt/vstats/v_events.htm Remove the brackets. Teresa in Canada

Jackie Can you point me in the direction of the site you used to order the documentation? I've currently hit another brick wall now I've reached several of my grandfathers sibs who emigrated in the 1920's Thanks Ali

Jacquie, years ago I ordered birth and death certificates from Canada. I had to allow up to one week for my letter to arrive. It usually took 6 weeks to process and send out the material. Allowed one week to reach us. I usually received my replies about 6-8 weeks after sending it off. With mail being a little faster these days, and possibly their processing, I would hope it wouldn't take as long as it used to. Good luck. I would be interested in hearing when you finally do receive it.

Just wondered if anyone has ever ordered any Canadian documentation (as to length of time it takes). I ordered some land registry papers some 8 plus weeks ago, did a follow up email to see what was going on about 10 days ago(had no reply (as you don't!!). Just wondered if things from abroad are normally so slow? Jacquie
